Gastronomic experiences - A place where you can eat well, it doesn't matter what your budget is.
From street food to restaurants with reservations you will find an imense range of variety, flaming wokis all around the streets and really ecentric snacks, the culinary in Bangkok can be really cunning, you may be surprised to see top-rated-Michellin stars for really affordable prices, as the awarded Michelin star crab-omellete or the 50 years old noodles soup from 3 dollars a meal.
Temples - Different faiths co-existing.
It is not a surprise saying that 90% of thai people identify as Buddhists, it will need only a few steps outside to see the beautiful altars placed outside every hotel and building in Bangkok, plus the number of really unique buddist temples spread around the city (I have to say it makes de city super nice and pretty), but not only that, I had a feeling that I had never been to a place where so many different religions could co-exist in such a peaceful way, and with mutual admiration and respect.
Hostel - If you haven't been to one, I suggest you give it a try.
Being in a nice hotel with a large room space and a confy king size bed can be really comfortable and a very rational choice, though, if you want to experience a more sociable experience in which you will be able to meet different cultures, nationalities, listen to different accents, and practice your english (other languages too), I would greatly recommend you a hostel.
Urban Center- A city that emanates freedom, and that may surprise you in every corner
Getting a taxi, a Grab (app) or a Tuk tuk, will enable you to move through the city landscape fastly, however if you are willing to see the urban center as it is, I recommend you get a bike on anywheel (app) or to go for a walk with non specific destination, going around and entering different places that may call your attention (some of them are upstairs), it will be really worth doing, and you will be surprised with how many cool things are available to you.
Traffic - It is more organize then it looks like
Don't expect people to respect the red light, At first glance you may think the traffic in Bangkok is one of the most chaotic you have ever seen, however, if you give it some time, you will see that what looks like pure chaos is indeed organised chaos lol, as a cyclist, I have felt a way safer riding a bike there than I would feel in Sao Paulo, during the two weeks I did not see one single accident or worse a fight between drivers! Positive surprise
Weather - Open the umbrela, close the umbrela.
The rainy season is not considered the best time to visit Thailand, most people can feel frustrated with really rainiy days. I on another hand (by the time I write it) a person who lives in Dubai and almost never see the rain felt really realised hehe, did not mind the rain at all, just replaced my outside walks for some indoor activities (there are sooo many) and vouala, problems solved.
A Place for Nomades - Asia / Oceania Networking Hub
Attracting people for its punging aura and surely for the freedom it represents a great place to network with Chinese outside of China and many other countries in Asia/ Oceania, Bangkok is a great location for Nomades, starting from its high speed unlimited internet connection for travellers, you can have a pack of fifteen days of internet (that can be renewed at any seven-eleven for a bagatelle of a couple of dollars.
Work Life Balance - Fresh food, business opportunities and lots of accessible leisure
Two weeks there were what I needed to place Bangkok on my top three places I could work and live, the cultural richness, the many options of leisure that you can access using very little or no-money, the number of nationalities that you can be in touch with and the delicious food you can taste basically in every corner makes this place food for thought!
